📚 Curriculum Content Descriptions
Gridpanions brings the Australian Curriculum v9.0 Mathematics to life through interactive, curriculum-aligned games. Games are mapped across the six Mathematics strands — Number, Algebra, Measurement, Space, Statistics and Probability — making it easy for teachers to find activities that connect directly with what students are learning in the classroom.
Each game targets specific mathematical skills and content descriptions, with difficulty and gameplay adapting across year levels where appropriate. From building fluency with multiplication facts to navigating grids and the Cartesian plane, students can practise key concepts through engaging, repeatable gameplay.
As Gridpanions grows, new games and skills will continue to expand the curriculum coverage, giving teachers an increasingly broad collection of activities that can be explored by year level, strand, or content description.
| Strand | Year level | Code | Content description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Space | Year 4 | AC9M4SP02 | Create and interpret grid reference systems using grid references and directions to locate and describe positions and pathways |
| Space | Year 5 | AC9M5SP02 | Construct a grid coordinate system that uses coordinates to locate positions within a space; use coordinates and directional language to describe position and movement |
| Space | Year 6 | AC9M6SP02 | Locate points in the 4 quadrants of a Cartesian plane; describe changes to the coordinates when a point is moved to a different position in the plane |
| Algebra | Year 4 | AC9M4A02 | Recall and demonstrate proficiency with multiplication facts up to 10 x 10 and related division facts; extend and apply facts to develop efficient mental strategies for computation with larger numbers without a calculator |
| Algebra | Year 5 | AC9M5A01 | Recognise and explain the connection between multiplication and division as inverse operations and use this to develop families of number facts |
| Algebra | Year 5 | AC9M5A02 | Find unknown values in numerical equations involving multiplication and division using the properties of numbers and operations |
| Number | Year 8 | AC9M8N04 | Use the 4 operations with integers and with rational numbers, choosing and using efficient strategies and digital tools where appropriate |
